Santorini was absolutely beautiful!! If you are looking for a place to go that is great for a family, this is the place! It is so gorgeous, the water is so clear, the beaches are great, the shopping is amazing! The scenery is breathtaking! You will fall in love with this island! I did!! :)

Due to the multiple volcanic eruptions, today the island offers fascinating images. My partner and I were lucky enough to stay a total period of 10 days in Fira, the capital of the island. I can specifically recall our walks between the narrow paths and the whitewashed houses, the locals who were very helpful and kind.

We started our tour from the narrow alleys of this great village and then we continued to other villages of Santorini. Imerovigli is a dreamy settlement with cute whitewashed houses and beautiful churches. The entire surrounding is just magnificent to watch. Far down from Imerovigli there is Pyrgos, a historical village with strong medieval character and romantic alleys. Between these two is Fira, the capital of the island (this time I will probably stay there).

World-famous sunsets over the caldera make Santorini a destination for lovers and honeymoon-couples. The main town of Fira is perched atop cliffs overlooking a sunken volcano, the views are truly outstanding. Santorini with its buildings of classic Venetian design and signature blue-domed churches. Glorious sunsets are Santorini's claim-to-fame and are not to be missed.

Make sure you visit Santorini when you go to Greece. It's magical! An island that is a volcano, what could be dreamier? Make sure you try the local naturally sweet red wine, sweet tomatoes, and lava. It's a must-see. The hotels with its sea views are great and the people are friendly.
